Rachel Wakefield     Michael Wynne
After combining a full time job and Eventing for many years in 2006 Rachel put the suits in the cupboard, left corporate life and set up Uptown Eventing. Rachel has been involved in the sport of Eventing for nearly 25 years.  Rachel describes herself as a ‘good amateur’ having had several really good horses including Remember Spartan & Uptown both of which she took to Advanced level.  She was a member of the Bisley Pony Club Eventing Team who competed at the pony club Championship, & continued her quest in the sport and has now competed at several International Three Day Events including Blenheim CCI***, Saumur CCI***, Bramham CCI*** & Pau CCI***.  Her quest for professionalism is second to none and has worked incredibly hard to be respected by the top riders and is a very familiar face on the circuit.

Rachel fell into Journalism in 1995 the magazine Eventing featured her as their Working Rider Diarist in 2003 this then led to a number of Event reports in both Eventing and Horse & Hound and more recently her hilarious Stabletalk gossip Column.  Her sense of humour shone through and spent 2 years as a presenter on Radio Badminton alongside Harriet Law & Stuart Buntine.  She still competes regularly and has a team of 4 horses.  Her passion for travelling has taken her all over the world and she can often be found watching at Foreign Events “It’s the best place to see what’s going on, although Britain is the epicentre for the sport it’s great to see how other nations tackle it”.

Eventing.  Her knowledge and contacts on the Event circuit enabled her to source top class horses for riders who were looking and after her first successful match of Horus de Ligniere & Francesca Ludlam the company was launched.  In 2007 she set up with partner Michael Wynne and are an enviable team having the added expertise that Michael show jumped at Grand Prix Level & evented successfully to Advanced Level.
Michael has showjumped at top level for the last 15+ years having competed and won at Grand Prix Level and having travelled all over Europe. Michael learnt his trade at showjumper Carmen Lanni's Holmes Chapel yard. He then had a yard of 20 horses in Cheshire where he produced and sold showjumping horses and competed his well known International horses included Diamond Cliff, Caybareen & Chinka. His style & professionalism for producing horses led to Belgian International Showjumper Ludo Philippaerts sending horses to him to be produced.

He then had a break for 4 years and played Polo at Cheshire Polo Club where he earned a handicap of a 1 goal.  He also played in several tournaments for Whitehall including  8-goal tournaments at Cowdray.

A career in Eventing followed working for David & Catherine Witt, producing their Young Event Horses.  Primitive Loch, their young horse bought from Henrietta Knight proved to be the most successful.  Taking Michael through the grades from Novice to Advanced in just 3 years, winning the Advanced at Eglinton and placed 2nd at Chatsworth in the CIC***.

2007 saw Michael move south and base himself in Chobham, Surrey with his partner Rachel Wakefield and set up Uptown Eventing.
